Renting Black Barn Studios

Limited rentals for local like minded professional creatives, to create personally or with clients. This is Heather Whitcombe's personal studio at her home, so in order to rent you must meet and get to know each other. But by doing so you will get an experience unlike any other studio rental.

I do require you to provide proof of commercial liability insurance with a minimum of 2 Million in coverage. As well as sign a rental agreement each time you rent.

The Space

Black Barn Studios is a approximately 1,200 sq. ft. shooting space, with 15 ft ceilings. Featuring a north/west facing natural light source of a 14 x 14 ft garage door. The studio is well equipped and has convenient parking. Offers enough room to accommodate multiple sets, ensuring effective use of your time. Client seating area, kitchen with fridge, gas oven, and microwave as well as a large washroom/change room.

Process

Book a meeting with Heather get a studio tour and get to know each other. We discuss your needs for the rental. You provide your proof of insurance. Then we get a date on hold in the calendar for your session then sign the rental agreement and make the payment. Then the fun part, create & capture.

Rules

Use of second level & stairs and access to storage room is off limits. Owners use only. Payment made in advance. No use of open flames. Professional and family friendly environment so no shooting of pornographic content. Drug & alcohol free space. Alcohol is only permitted as a prop

What is the difference?

I have a passion for creative community and I want to support like minded creative people so they succeed. I have a background as an Art Director at a global corporation. So I have worked with a lot of different photographers and videographers. I know how to help and make things successful. I will help in planning of props, sets and gear that I have to work well for your session. I will have them out and easy to access upon your arrival. On the shoot day I am in studio to assist you set up sets, props and gear as needed. Be a resource for you when you just need to talk it out to find the right lighting or set solution. And even shoot photo and video BTS content for you and your client to use for your social media if all parties are willing.

Studio + Gear Rental Rates

Flat rate pricing, so it's easier for you to quote your clients and know you will have the gear you need.

$150 + hst per hour and a 2 hour minimum
Full Day - $1,200 +hst
7 hours - $1,050 +hst
6 hours - $900 +hst
5 hours - $750 +hst
4 hours - $600 +hst
3 hours - $450 +hst
2 hours - $300 +hst

The Kitchen

Is complete! The perfect bolder backdrop for a variety of businesses portraits, or use for food photography prep. If you are using the kitchen for food prep for photography or video there is a 4 hour minimum booking.
